Last week-end, the entire Lavra team joined the women bike ride to Big Sur as part of the AMWE Movement: a cross-cultural non-profit supporting and empowering women in Tharaka, Kenya. AMWE means "together" or "shoulder to shoulder" in the native Kii Tharaka language.
Join us for a hands-on cultural cooking event where participants will learn to prepare traditional African dishes. We will make chapati and lentil soup while exploring the ingredients, techniques, and traditions behind these foods. This is a fun opportunity to build cooking skills, experience African cuisine, and connect with others through food.
Robert, who founded AMWE with Kenz, will be there to share his stories and recipes!
